Posted: Updated:

GRANT COUNTY, Wash. - Two people were killed Saturday morning after a semi-truck struck a car on Highway 17.

The collision happened just after 9:00am at Northlake Road about four miles north of Moses Lake. Washington State Troopers say the semi-truck driver, 31-year-old Orvil Magruder of Ellensburg was turning left onto Northlake Road when he clipped the front end of a 1958 Ford Thunderbird. The two passengers in the Thunderbird, 40-year-old Christian Schuermann of Moses Lake and his 13-year-old female passenger were killed in the crash.

The road was blocked for over four hours while Troopers conducted an investigation. At this point, it is unknown if drugs or alcohol were a factor and charges may be pending.

We will be sure to update this story as soon as we get any additional information.
