SPOKANE, Wash. - Police in East Spokane arrested a man they say stole a car in Spokane Valley early Wednesday morning after a very brief chase.
Police told KHQ that the man stole a car in Spokane Valley, and between when the car was reported stolen and found on the road, was a matter of minutes.
A Sheriff's Deputy using special License Plate Scanning technology discovered the car as being stolen, and after a short chase, the suspect crashed his car into a garage near Crestline and Mission in East Spokane.
Police arrested the man a few minutes later after following his footprints in the snow.
The Deputy who discovered the stolen car actually used his License Plate Scanning technology to locate two other separate stolen vehicles, not related to this incident. The suspects in those suspected thefts have not been located.
