Former Idaho Vandal – now San Francisco 49er – Mike Iupati is ready for the Baltimore Ravens in Super Bowl XLVII. And he credits his parents for helping him get there.

Iupati will be matched up against former Oregon Duck Haloti Ngata. Both players possess rare size, power and aggressiveness, and both are of Polynesian descent – something in which they take great pride.

"We want one thing: to be successful in life," said Iupati during a media day opportunity in New Orleans. "That's why we always work hard. It's a credit to our parents. Growing up that's the number one thing – respect and God and family. We take those family values and take it to our life. That helps us stay grounded and become very successful."

Iupati is the third guard from Idaho to play in a Super Bowl. The other two are Mark Schlereth and Jerry Kramer.
