Dryer Fire Evacuates West Spokane Motel

SPOKANE, Wash. - Spokane Firefighters were called to the West Wynn Motel in West Spokane after the hotel was evacuated due to heavy smoke Saturday afternoon.

Firefighters quickly made entry and discovered the source of the smoke was a dryer fire.

Smoke poured into several rooms, but once the fire was out, crews ventilated the motel and guests were allowed back into their rooms.

No injuries were reported.

The Post Register reports that 23-year-old Ashley Wornek of Salmon pleaded guilty last week in 7th District Court to five counts of felony possession of a controlled substance. Wornek faces up to seven years in prison for each count.>>
