Girlfriend Of Shooting Victim Speaks Out

Posted: Updated:

SPOKANE, Wash. - One day after Jacob Dorfman was shot and killed by Spokane Police early Tuesday morning, his on-again off-again girlfriend Mandi Quet talks with KHQ.

Quet says that Dorfman had recently been released from jail and learned of his mothers death on the same day, and hadn't slept for 5 days.

Quet says he acted strangely that night and walked out of her apartment without shoes, socks or a shirt.  He became paranoid with both Quet and her roommate and pointed a gun on her roommate Jack.

Quet says, "And that's when they walked out into the hall.  Jack was in front of him and I guess Jacob said to Jack ' are you guys trying to set me up?' and Jack's like 'what dude?  What are you talking about? and he said Jacob raise the gun up like this and then moved it over like that. He wasn't going to shoot jack and that's when he fired."

Bullet holes were left in the fire extinguisher down the stairs and neighbors heard several gun shots.  It's unclear how many shots Dorfman fired.

Quet said that after Dorfman fired the gun, he was screaming for her to help him.  She believes he may have injured himself.

An invetigation is still ongoing.
