Boeing 787 Lands Safely After Relocating from Fort Worth to Everett

UPDATE:

EVERETT, Wash. - A Boeing 787 landed safely just before 11 AM Thursday at Paine Field in Everett, near the factory where it was assembled.

A flight crew flew the plane from Meacham Field in Fort Worth where it was painted in the colors of the airline customer, China Southern.

The Federal Aviation Administration gave the company permission to move the plane. Other 787s have been grounded since last month after battery problems.

The administration is still considering a separate Boeing request for 787 test flights.

PREVIOUS COVERAGE:

The Federal Aviation Administration today will let Boeing put one grounded Dreamliner back in the air on a test flight to see if the battery gives the plane any problems.

The fleet of 787s have been grounded since January after a fire broke out aboard a Dreamliner at Boston's Logan International.

The flight is slated to take off at 7:00 AM in Texas and only the flight crew will be aboard. The Dreamliner will fly to Boeing's Warehouse in Everett.
