Omak Superintendent Killed In Crash

PATEROS, Wash. - Washington State Patrol and the Omak School District say that Superintendent Art Himmler was killed in a car crash south of Pateros on US 97. The crash happened Thursday morning, WSP did not notify the media until family had been notified.

WSP says Himmler was driving south on 97 towards Wenatchee when he tried to pass a car on the highway. Troopers say Himmler was driving too fast for conditions, he then lost control of hit truck and rolled into an embankment where he was ejected from the vehicle. Himmler was pronounced dead at the scene.
