Valentine's Is A Busy Day For The Hitching Post

Posted: Updated:

COUER D'Alene, Idaho - For many, Valentine's Day is just another day. For some, it's a day to express your feelings for your significant other and now for one couple, it will be their anniversary.

Traditionally flower shops are the busiest on Valentine's Day, but in Coeur D'Alene the Hitichin' Post may be giving them a run for their money as many couples are heading there looking to get married on a day designated for love.

KHQ Local News Reporter Dylan Wohlenhaus caught up with a couple Thursday that have had a thing for each other since high school. They decided to tie the knot 40-years later. John and Cheryl Guillot were one of many couples that got hitched at the post Thursday.

John and Cheryl were both previously married. Cheryl lived in Florida, and John in Washington. Through out the years they both kept in contact and are now living in western Washington together and eloped to the Hitchin' Post today for their wedding.

Both kept the wedding quiet from their families, but they will have quite the story to tell once they return home.
