Cruise Ship Docks After 5 Days Without Power

MOBILE, Ala. (AP) - The passengers of the Carnival cruise ship Triumph are beginning the process of getting back to normal, checking into hotels for a shower and hot meal or boarding buses bound for other cities after five days at sea on a powerless ship disabled by an engine-room fire.
    
The cruise ship carrying some 4,200 people finally docked late Thursday in Mobile, Ala., as passengers cheered the end to an odyssey marked by overflowing toilets and food shortages.
    
"Sweet Home Alabama!" read one of the homemade signs passengers affixed alongside the 14-story ship as many celebrated at deck rails of the ship.
    
The ship's horn loudly blasted as tugboats pulled it to shore around 9:15 p.m. CST after days on the Gulf of Mexico. About four hours later, the last passenger had disembarked.
