YAHOO.COM - As expected of a company whose very name is synonymous with the sound of
ringing cash registers, Tiffany & Co. has not taken kindly to
Costco selling what Tiffany alleges are counterfeit diamond engagement
rings using the Tiffany name.
In their lawsuit against Costco, the
luxury jeweler claims that hundreds, maybe thousands (recently engaged
ladies out there might want to take a closer look at that sparkler), of
customers have bought the engagement rings in question from Costco.
Apparently a customer at Costco in Huntington Beach, Calif. complained
to Tiffany about Costco selling what was advertised as Tiffany diamond
engagement rings, sparking an investigation and the subsequent lawsuit.
