The Spokane Chiefs opened their 3 game road trip through the U.S. Division with a 6-3 win over the Everett Silvertips Friday night in Everett. With the win, Spokane moved into 4th place in the Western Conference.

Cole Wedman got the Chiefs on the board with his 3rd goal of the season from Connor Chartier and Adam Power at 7:18 of the first period to make it 1-0 Spokane. Alessio Bertaggia, in his first game since being injured in mid-January, would score on the power play at 10:57 to put the Chiefs up 2-0. Bertaggia's 19th goal of the year was assisted by Mitch Holmberg and Brenden Kichton. Everett cut the lead to 2-1 on a Kole Bauml goal at 14:46. Spokane would answer though on a Holmberg breakaway with 25 seconds left in the first to take a 3-1 lead after one. Holmberg's 34th goal of the year was assisted by Mike Aviani.

Spokane would extend the lead to 4-1 on a Dylan Walchuk shorthanded goal from Kichton at 13:47 of the second period. Everett would get within 4-2 on a Manraj Hayer 5 on 3 power play goal to leave it a 4-2 game after two periods. The Chiefs Mikulas Rimmel scored his 3rd goal of the season from Jackson Playfair 7:05 into the third period to give Spokane a 5-2 lead. Bauml would score his second goal of the night at 10:43 to make it a 5-3 game, but Bertaggia scored his 2nd of the night on an empty netter from Reid Gow at 19:24 to cap the victory.

Spokane outshot Everett 39-27, while both teams went 1-3 on the power play. The Chiefs continue the road trip Saturday at Tri Cities at 7pm. Mike Boyle will have the call on 1510 KGA beginning with the pre-game show at 6:30pm.
