EMMETT, Idaho (AP) - Police in southwestern Idaho say a texting teen driving at about 50 mph failed to negotiate a curve with a suggested speed of 30 mph and hit a power pole.
The Idaho Press-Tribune reports (http://bit.ly/XeIHdT) the 17-year-old from Emmett was treated for injuries at the scene and released.
Idaho State Police say the Ford pickup left the road at about 10 p.m. Saturday and flipped onto its top into some trees off Vanderdasson Road in Emmett.
Police say the teenager was wearing a seatbelt and that air bags in the vehicle deployed. Police cited the teen for reckless driving.
