BOISE, Idaho (AP) - Authorities say a man was shot in the head in his car on a Boise street in an apparent road-rage encounter.

Ada County Coroner's Office identified the victim Tuesday as 28-year-old Mathew Mohler-Kerns. The coroner says Mohler-Kerns died of a gunshot wound Monday night.

His death was listed as a homicide.

The Ada County Sheriff's Office says two vehicles crashed near the intersection of Vista and Canal Street at about 8 p.m. Monday. One of the drivers then left the scene.

Boise police officers responded to a call on Franklin Road about a half-hour later, where they found Mohler-Kerns shot. He later died at a hospital.

The police department says officers have taken a person of interest into custody, but it has not released the person's name.
