JOINT BASE LEWIS-MCCHORD, Wash. (AP) - About 250 military intelligence soldiers were greeted by family and friends when they returned to Joint Base Lewis-McChord after a nine-month deployment in Afghanistan.

KIRO-TV reports members of the 502nd Military Intelligence Battalion marched into the Wilson gym on the base about 2:30 a.m. Wednesday.

They were deployed throughout Afghanistan since spring, collecting information. No soldiers in the unit were killed in action. One died of self-inflicted wounds.
