PRESS RELEASE FROM THE SPOKANE COUNTY SHERIFF'S OFFICE: We've all seen the TV shows, the cop dramas, CSI (pick a city), Law and
Order and going back to Perry Mason and beyond. Now here's your chance to see
what "really" happens not what is portrayed by Hollywood.
Come and join us for
this spring's Citizens Academy: "Officer Involved Shootings". The Spokane County Sheriff's Office in cooperation with the Spokane Valley
Police Department will host this spring's Citizen's Academy on Tuesday nights
from 6:00 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. starting April 2nd
and continuing through May 21st.
There will also
be an all day Saturday session on May 11th and
most sessions will be held at the Spokane County Sheriff's Office Training
Center located at 10319 E. Appleway Blvd. in Spokane Valley.
You will hear from Deputies, Detectives, Psychologists, Forensics (your
"CSI" investigators), Prosecutors and much more so you will know what happens
during and after one of these traumatic events occurs. You will also have the
opportunity to experience a lethal force training scenario!
There is no cost to attend the Citizen's Academy but space is limited so
you must apply and a background check is required.
