KHQ.COM - As part of work to make it easier to do business with the City of Spokane, Mayor David Condon today is announcing the launch of a new on-line service to report potholes. The website-based service can be accessed on laptop and desktop computers, smart phones, and tablets through the following address: myspokane.spokanecity.org/mobile.
"We want to make it easy for citizens to interact with us on issues both big and small," says Mayor Condon. "This is part of a much larger effort to improve customer service and enhance communication with citizens."
Citizens will be prompted to enter information about the size and location of the pothole. They can also "pin" the location on a map and send along a photo. The reported information will go directly to the City's Street Department to be scheduled for repair.
The service works on:
- iPhones and iPads with operating systems 5 or 6.
- Droid devices with "ice cream sandwich" or "jelly bean" using a Google Chrome browser.
- Computers with Internet Explorer or Google Chrome browsers.

Citizens also can continue to report potholes by calling the Street Department at 625-7733. Crews prioritize pothole repairs based on size and location, with the largest potholes on the busiest streets being repaired first. Crews fill potholes all year long.
The new on-line pothole reporting service is just one of the customer service enhancements made in the last year.
Last fall, the City launched the My Spokane customer service desk on the first floor of City Hall that allows citizens to pay utility bills and parking tickets, sign up for Parks classes, and request information—all in one location. The City is working on an update to its web site, enhancing use of social media tools, and adding more services on-line.
