UPDATE: Fatal Car Crash On Highway 395

STEVENS COUNTY, Wash. - The Washington State Patrol says a 55-year-old Cheney man died in the two car collision near Clayton Friday afternoon.

Troopers say a caravan was traveling northbound on Highway 395 when the weather conditions caused the van to slide into the northbound lane. As it slid, the van turned sideways and was T-boned by a pickup truck traveling southbound. The man in the passenger seat, William Gilk of Cheney, died as a result of the crash.

The driver of the van was injured and taken to the hospital for treatment. The driver of the pickup was not injured.

It happened around 4:30 Friday afternoon just north of Clayton in Stevens County.

two cars were involved in the crash and two people were injured.

One died at scene, while the other was taken to the hospital with unknown injuries.

Washington State Patrol reports they are experiencing winter driving conditions in the area.
