Detectives Investigate Connection Between Child Lurings

PRESS RELEASE FROM THE SPOKANE POLICE DEPT: Detectives have interviewed victims and found similarities in the reports of two attempted child luring cases, one happening December 17, 2012 and one happening yesterday, February 26, 2013.  In both cases young girls reported that a man approached them on their way to school (between 8:30 and 9:00 am) and asked them to get into his SUV.

The suspect is described as a male in his early 30's with tan skin and dark hair wearing sunglasses. He is described as being 5'11" tall with a thin build and having a scruffy short dark beard with gray flecks in it. 

In both instances the suspect's vehicle is described as a black or dark colored smaller SUV. Both instances of attempted luring occurred in the area of 39th and Crestline and both happened in the morning before school (between 8:30 and 9am).

Detectives have information that the suspect may be familiar with the area and may live nearby.

Anyone with information on these incidents or that may have witnessed a suspicious male around Hamblen Elementary watching children is asked to call Crime Check at 456-2233.
