SPOKANE, Wash. -

Sunnyside Christian earned a trip to t he 1B semifinals Thursday by beating St. John-Endicott 52-37 at the State B Tournament at Spokane Arena.

Sunnyside Christian controlled the game from outset, shooting better than 54 percent from the field in the first half. They led 34-15 at the half and never let the Eagles in game.

Annie Brouwer led all scorers with 17 for the Knights. Kara Den Hoed scored 11 points. Stormie Van Belle grabbed nine rebounds.

No one for St. John-Endicott scored in double figures. Emily Jones led the Eagles with nine points and five offensive rebounds.

Sunnyside Christian will play Pateros in Friday's semifinal round. Pateros beat Yakama Nation 63-36 in the first game of the day at Spokane Arena.

Gatorade state player of the year, Lexie Hull led the way 26 points, 13 of which came in the 4th quarter. The Bears end the season 29-0 as Washington state champions and national champions.>>
