Soap Lake, WASH. - The Soap Lake Eagles are set to tip off in the first
round of the State B Basketball Tournament in Spokane late Thursday evening, but
back in the small town businesses and community members continue to spread
support.
The downtown businesses are lined up with "Go Eagles!" signs and this
morning many gathered to send them off to state.
Carmen Eckhart was one of those people.
"There were about three fire engines, a couple cop cars, everyone standing
in the street," Eckhart said. "Sirens were going, we were holding up
signs saying 'Go Eagles! Win at State and Have A Good Time!"
"The boys have never been (at state)," Eckhart said. "We're rooting them on
here, hope to see them on tv tonight. We hope they win and maybe we can then see
them another night after tonight."
