
LaCrosse-Washtucna-Kahlotus took care of business on Thursday night with a 56-40 win against Soap Lake in boys 1B tournament action to advance to the state semifinals.
The Tigercats opened a 17-point lead in the fourth quarter and then hit 5-of-6 free throws down the stretch to hold off a late surge by the Eagles. The Tigercats went 14-of-18 from the line.
Austin Summers led LaCrosse-Washtucna-Kahlotus with 13 points, while Jed Zimmer added 10 points and 10 rebounds. Alec Flemming also had 10 points, while dishing four assists.
Jason Korneych had a massive game for Soap Lake in the losing effort, scoring 24 points and grabbing 17 rebounds.
The Tigercats advance to the semifinals Friday at 9:00 p.m., while the Eagles play a 2:00 p.m. game in the consolation bracket.
