Sunnyside Christian 50 Pomeroy 40 (Boys 1B)

Sunnyside Christian's dominance in boys 1B basketball continued on Thursday with win over Pomeroy. The Knights will aim to capture their fifth state championship in the last seven years on Saturday at 5:00 p.m.

Alex Brouwer led the way for Sunnyside Christian with 14 points and Brant Bosma added 11.

Tanner Feider scored 11 and Brian McGreevy had 10 points in a losing effort for Pomeroy, who will play for third place at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday.

 

Neah Bay 77 LaCrosse-Washtucna-Kahlotus 60 (Boys 1B)

Neah Bay pulled away in the third quarter to earn a spot in the boys 1B championship game on Saturday. The Red Devils will face Sunnyside Christian at 5:00 p.m. for the title.

Tyler McCaulley led the way for Neah Bay with 29 points on 10-of-15 shooting, including 8-of-12 from downtown. Abraham Venske added 21 points and six rebounds.

Jed Zimmer had 20 points and eight rebounds for the Tigercats, who who will play Pomeroy in the third-place game at 1:00 p.m.
