UPDATE: 60-Year-Old Man Shot And Killed In Moses Lake Identified

UPDATE: Press Release From Grant County Coroner:

On Saturday, March 2, 2013 at approximately 10:20 p.m. the Grant County Coroner's Office responded to Samaritan Hospital Emergency Department for the report of a death resulting from a gun shot.  An autopsy was conducted today at the Grant County Forensic Institute under the direction of Coroner Craig Morrison.

The deceased was identified as Steven Lynn Hughes, a 60 year-old Moses Lake, Washington resident.

The cause of death is Shotgun Wound of Abdomen.  The manner of death has been ruled as homicide.

MOSES LAKE, Wash. – A 60-year-old man died last night after being shot at his Moses Lake home.

"Though it is early in the investigation, I'm reassuring citizens we don't believe this was a random shooting," said Sheriff Tom Jones.

Grant County Sheriff's Deputies were called around 9:30 p.m. Mar. 2 for an assault at a home in the 7700 block of Clink Road Northeast in Cascade Valley. When they arrived they found a man who had been shot. The man was taken to Samaritan Hospital where he died a short time later. An autopsy is scheduled for Monday and the man's name will be released once the Coroner has notified his family.

Detectives spent the entire night searching the home and interviewing witnesses. There is little public information ready for release right now.

GRANT COUNTY, Wash. - Detectives with the Grant County Sheriff's Department are investigating a shooting that happened Saturday night. 

Details are limited at this time, but we know one person was shot in the Cascade Valley area of Moses Lake in the 7700 block of Clink Road. Right now the condition of the person shot is unknown. 

The Sheriff's Department has not said if there are any suspects still on the loose, but we are expecting an update Sunday morning and will be sure to pass that along to you as soon as we get one.
