Karr wins WCC Player of the Year, leads long list of Gonzaga women honored

Posted: Updated:

A dominant run through West Coast Conference play has landed the Gonzaga women's basketball team many individual accolades.

As announced on Tuesday, Taelor Karr was named the conference's Player of the Year, Jazmine Redmon won the Defensive Player of the Year award and Kelly Graves took home Coach of the Year honors. Aditionally, Haiden Palmer was named to the All-Conference Team, Sunny Greinacher All-Conference Honorable Mention and Shelby Cheslek All-Conference Freshman Team.

Karr, who is the fifth Gonzaga player to ever be so honored, was the fourth-leading scorer in the WCC during conference play with 14.1 points per game. The senior guard also led the conference in 3-point field goal percentage during WCC play.

Redmon, a junior guard who was often tasked with defending an opponent's top scoring threat, had 2.1 steals per game.

This is the seventh time Graves has been named the Coach of the Year, and the third time in the past four years. This season, Graves led the Bulldogs to a 25-5 record and 15-1 in WCC play.
