Spokane skated to a 2-0 early in the second only to see Seattle score the game's final four goals as the Chiefs fell to the Thunderbirds 4-2 in front of 4,114 fans at the Spokane Arena Wednesday night. Mike Aviani and Carter Proft each notched a goal as the Chiefs dropped to 21-10-1-0 at home and 39-25-2-0 overall.

The Chiefs got on the board first at the 7:08 mark as Aviani beat Brandon Glover five-hole with assists from Mitch Holmberg and Alessio Bertaggia. Spokane was stout defensively in the period, using three successful penalty kills and seven saves from Williams to keep Seattle scoreless through the game's first 20 minutes.

Proft stretched Spokane's lead to 2-0 at 7:20 in the second as he slipped home a rebound on an assist from Tyler King. Seattle answered quickly though, with Robert Lipsbergs scoring a power play goal at the 8:37 mark to pull the Thunderbirds within one. The Chiefs outshot the T-Birds 16-6 for the period.

Seattle scored three times in the third with Shea Theodore lighting the lamp on the power play at 6:36, Connor Sanvido converting a short hand goal at 8:01, and Riley Sheen capping the scoring with an empty net goal at 19:42. Brenden Kichton was turned away on a penalty shot by Glover at the 16:20 mark of the period.

Williams was 26 of 29 on save opportunities while Glover was 27 of 29. The Chiefs went 0 of 4 on the power play and 5 for 7 on the penalty kill.

Tonight's three stars: Luke Lockhart (1st), Alexander Delnov (2nd), and Shea Theodore (3rd).

The Chiefs are home again on Friday at 7:05 PM as they host Everett for Miller Brewing Roadtrip Giveaway Night.
