UPDATE:

Spokane Police Major Crimes Detectives are looking for assistance in the identification of the female victim of a homicide that happened early this morning. 

The victim is described as a:

-          White female

-          Age 18-25

-          5' 7.5" in height

-          154 pounds

-          Brown hair, 18 inches in length

-          Light brown eyes

-          Two distinctive tattoos located on her hip and arm (pictured below)

Background: At approximately 4:30 this morning, Spokane Police Officers received reports of a shooting in the parking lot of the College Terrace Apartments in the 4100 block of W. Fort George Drive in west Spokane. When officers responded they found an adult female laying outside.  She was pronounced dead at the scene.

PRESS RELEASE FROM THE SPOKANE POLICE DEPT: 

At approximately 4:30 Monday morning Spokane Police Officers received reports of a shooting in the parking lot of the College Terrace Apartments in the 4100 block of W. Fort George Drive in west Spokane. When officers responded they found an adult female laying outside. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

Spokane Police Major Crimes Detectives have cordoned off the area and are investigating the incident. The Spokane County Medical Examiner also responded to the scene. Spokane Police officers and detectives will be on scene throughout the day processing the crime scene.

Major Crimes Detectives are in the very preliminary stages of their investigation into this shooting and do not anticipate the release of further information (victim identity, suspect description, etc.) today. New information will be released as soon as it is made available.

W. Fort George Wright was open to normal traffic and residents can enter and exit the College Terrace Apartments.

UPDATE: The victim has been identified as a female. Her age and identity is unknown. The victim was found in the parking lot of the apartment complex. Emergency crews tried to revive her on the scene but were unable to save her life. As soon as we get more details we'll post them ASAP.

SPOKANE, Wash. - Spokane Police and Major Crimes detectives are investigating a deadly shooting near the campus of Spokane Falls Community College that happened early Monday morning.
 
The shooting happened at the College Terrace Apartments on the 4100 Block of W Fort George Wright Drive west of downtown Spokane.
 
Police are not giving much other details but did say the W Fort George Wright was open to normal traffic.
 
The Spokane Police Department's major crimes division is at the scene processing evidence.
