Fever Prepare Indoors for Home Opener on SWX

Posted: Updated:

KENNEWICK, Wash. - After a three week hiatus the Tri-Cities Fever are getting used to the friendly confines of the Toyota Center walls. So much so,  they hustled onto the turf a day ahead of schedule. This Friday the Fever will take on a really good team in the Nebraska Danger. You can watch it live on SWX. After spending a few weeks outside the Fever are excited to back indoors.

"It's been nice to be inside we actually started a day early, we brought the guys back on Sunday and had a night practice," said Adam Shackleford, Fever head coach. "You know we haven't been here (Toyota Center) since the first three days of training camp, so it's been nice to get back, practice inside the walls and get out of the elements a little bit outside."

"The wall is a great help. A cone, you can always run past a cone, you can run past the walls, that's definitely a help to us," added Brandon Wilson, 3-year Fever linebacker. "It gives us a better visual of what plays will look like and how far we can take things."

One of the exciting parts about the indoor football game is the amount of scoring. But that was not the case on Saturday. The Tri-Cities Fever held the Wyoming Cavalry to a defensive season best, 16 points.
