KIRKLAND, Wash. (AP) - Google plans to double the size of its Kirkland campus to make room for 1,000 more employees.

The Internet company announced plans for two new buildings Tuesday at a news conference attended by Washington Gov. Jay Inslee who called it something to celebrate.

There are three existing buildings on the Kirkland campus where employees have worked on Google Voice, Google Talk and parts of the Chrome browser.

Google is based in Mountain View, Calif., and has nearly 40,000 employees worldwide.
