LAS VEGAS, March 15, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- MEET Las Vegas, a unique event and meeting venue, was named the 2013 Event Site of the Year on Tuesday, March 12.  The national Spotlight Award, presented by events industry publisher Event Solutions, recognizes the top unique event site that makes its venue hospitable, service-oriented and conducive to fantastic events.

Spotlight Award finalists were selected by an advisory board and the winners chosen by a combination of the advisory board and an online vote of meeting industry professionals.  Competition was open to any event venue in the U.S. and was based on work and events that took place between September 2011 and September 2012.

The award was accepted by MEET's CEO Dan Maddux on Tuesday, March 12 at the Spotlight Awards at the Mirage Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas.  The 2013 Spotlight Awards were presented in 15 categories, including Event Company of the Year, Entertainment of the Year and Event Planner of the Year, among others.
