KHQ & SWX: Your Home For Coverage On Selection Sunday

SPOKANE, Wash. – As Selection Sunday draws near, the Gonzaga Bulldogs are expected to get one of four #1 seeds in a field of 68, and KHQ & SWX will be your home for complete coverage. 

On Selection Sunday, our coverage is 4 ½ hours long, and we'll have everything you need to know about Gonzaga's drive for the title, with crews all over the GU campus, from the McCarthey Athletic Center to the Crosby Center.  They'll have live interviews with the players and coaches throughout the special.

From the KHQ studio, we'll take an in-depth look at the NCAA bracket, including the Zags first opponent, and the teams they could face on their quest for the championship. 

Here's our Sunday schedule:

3:00 – 5:00 pm: Live coverage on SWX, including who the Zags will play in the first round of the tournament, and where that game will be. 

5:00 pm: KHQ Local News At 5, including live coverage on both KHQ & SWX, including reaction from players, coaches and fans, live from the Kennel. 

5:30 pm: Live coverage continues on SWX with extended coverage. 

6:00 pm: KHQ Local News at 6, including continuing live coverage on KHQ & SWX. 

6:30 pm: Special edition of The Mark Few Show. 

7:00 pm: Complete Selection Sunday wrap-up on SWX.

Our coverage doesn't end there!  We also have you covered for Selection Monday, when the Gonzaga Women will learn their opponent.  Our coverage on Monday begins at 4:00 pm.

    POST FALLS, Idaho - The Kootenai County Sheriff's Office says a 40-year-old Post Falls man is in critical condition after falling off his inner tube on the Spokane River Saturday evening.  Deputies responded to the Corbin Park area for a report of a possible drowning at around 6:00 p.m. Witnesses say the man had fallen off his inner tube and not resurfaced.

    LIBERTY LAKE, Wash. - Update: Washington State Patrol has identified those involved in a four-vehicle crash on I-90 Saturday afternoon. Troopers say a driver was following too close and rear-ended one car, which caused a chain reaction collision. One driver was injured and taken to Sacred Heart hospital in Spokane, but his injuries were not considered life threatening.

Police say 23-year-old Angela Hernandez, or Portland, was found late Friday in Monterey County, California. According to reports, she had been traveling from Oregon to California back on July 6. That's when she accidentally drove off a 200-foot cliff.

    NEW ORLEANS (AP) - Eight animals have now died after a jaguar escaped from its habitat at the Audubon Zoo in New Orleans.    NOLA.com reports an alpaca and fox died Sunday, the day after the male jaguar killed four alpacas, one emu and one fox Saturday morning. The jaguar was captured and returned to its night house after being sedated by a vet team.
