Red Cross Honors Real Heroes at Luncheon in Yakima
YAKIMA, Wash.-- The Red Cross celebrated several every day heroes today during their annual Real Heroes luncheon at the Yakima Convention Center.
The yearly awards honor people who went above and beyond to serve their community.
Law enforcement, volunteers, and other community members attended the luncheon.
NBC Right Now's Claire Graham and Kevin Shaub hosted the event.
The Red Cross says they love spotlighting heroes in the community every year.
"Twelve people, seven stories, and each story was just unbelievable. The humanitarianism is just... unbelievable," says Yakima Red Cross Executive Director Lisa Reinhart.
It's also a major fundraiser for the Red Cross. They estimate they raised at least $12,000 today.

We'll also share one story each day during our six pm newscast.
