Sea-Tac Terminals Evacuated After Security Breach

TSA Statement: 

TSA statement on SEA terminal evacuation On Tuesday, March 19, around 7:30 PM PDT, an individual went through an exit lane and entered the sterile area of Seattle-Tacoma International Airport.  TSA officials and members of the Port of Seattle Police Department immediately began a search for the individual and located him just prior to 9 PM PDT.  Security and law enforcement authorities evacuated portions of the airport terminal, requiring passengers to be rescreened.  Normal security checkpoint operations resumed at approximately 9:20 PM PDT.  The circumstances surrounding this incident are under review.

SEATTLE, Wash. - If you were traveling through Sea-Tac airport Tuesday night, you probably experienced some delays.

A KHQ employee was inside the airport Tuesday night when they were told all passengers were to be evacuated from concourses C, D & central terminals.

Airport spokesman Perry Cooper told media outlets it appears someone went through a secure area through an exit. He also stated that it did not appear to be anything malicious.

Passengers were evacuated and taken back through check points for re-screening.

Outbound flights were delayed as a result.

    BREAKING NEWS - The Medical Examiner's Office has revised the death toll in the Moore, Oklahoma tornado from 91 people to at least 24 people.
    UPDATE: Originally the death toll was reported to be 91 people and counting, however, the Medical examiner's office revised the death toll from the Oklahoma tornado to at least 24 people. A spokeswoman said Tuesday morning that she believes some victims were counted twice in the early chaos of the storm.
