Most of the country will experience something different...warmer than normal temperatures.
Much like last year, about half the country will be under moderate to worse drought conditions, particularly in California, the Southwest, the southern Rockies, Texas, along the Gulf Coast and in Florida.
According to NOAA, the purpose of this Spring Outlook is to prepare a "weather-ready" nation.
"We still have the initiative and we're passionate about building a weather ready nation," says Lauren Furgione, the Deputy Director of the National Weather Service. "That weather ready nation ideally will predict live, helping people in the local communities be informed and prepared so they know what to do when the situation presents itself."
The National Weather Service says the soil moisture levels in the Pacific Northwest will be above normal, alleviating any concern for drought in the region this season.
