PEORIA, Ariz. – The Seattle Mariners added two more home runs to their spring club record, but were out-slugged by the Kansas City Royals in an 11-6 loss Tuesday afternoon in Cactus League play at Peoria Stadium.

The Mariners fell to 19-11 in Cactus League play, while the Royals (23-6-1) recorded their MLB leading 23rd win.

Franklin Gutierrez (#5) and Michael Morse (#7) each homered giving Seattle 54 home runs in 30 games this spring, most in the Majors. The old Mariners spring training record was 51 set in 1999. Morse hit a towering home run over the 40-foot batter's eye in center field, and is now tied for the spring training lead with seven home runs.

Gutierrez finished 2-for-4 with 2 runs scored and 3 RBI, adding a 2-run double to his solo home run. Morse went 3-for-4 and Dustin Ackley recorded his fifth straight multi-hit game going 2-for-4 with an RBI.

Starting pitcher Jeremy Bonderman (2-1) was saddled with the loss allowing 11 hits and 7 runs in 5.1 innings.

The Mariners (19-11) return to Cactus League play tomorrow hosting the Los Angeles Dodgers (11-17-3) at Peoria Stadium (1:05 pm). The game will be broadcast on 710 ESPN Seattle and the Mariners Radio Network. The game will feature a premier pitching matchup of Cy Young winners, Mariners right-hander Felix Hernandez (0-1, 1.64) and Dodgers left-hander Clayton Kershaw (2-2, 3.60).
