COURT DOCUMENTS: Stapert's Father Passed Out Due To Meth Use Night Of Death

COLFAX, Wash. - The Spokane County Medical Examiner's Office is working to identify a body found Wednesday in a rural area outside of Chattaroy. Investigators believe the body belongs to 17 year-old Donavin Stapert who was reported missing back on March 8th. Detectives found the remains yesterday afternoon after they received a tip that Stapert was buried there. They had to dig several feet to find the body. Right now three people are in jail in connection with the teen's death. They are accused of providing Stapert with meth, covering up his death and hiding his body.

One of the three in custody appeared in court today.  Chastity Barkhuff pled not guilty to a charge that she participated in a cover up of his death. The other two arrested, Bob Bilderback and James Ramson, they are yet to appear in court.

According to the documents Donavin Stapert, who is believed to be dead, was allegedly doing meth with his father and others at the time of his overdose. According to those same documents the reason his dad didn't know where his son went was because dad had passed out due to meth use. The documents then say that Bob Bilderback and James Ramson put the body in a safe as they came up with a plan to get rid of it.

We know now detectives believe they found Stapert's body on Wednesday in a heavily wooded area of North Spokane County after receiving a tip.
