Americans short on options at goalie after Lee-Knight injury

Posted: Updated:

KENNEWICK, Wash. -- Thursday night the Tri-City Americans lost game four in overtime to the Spokane Chiefs. They also lost goalie Luke Lee-Knight. The Ams do not disclose injuries but Spokane's Adam Helewka collapsed hard on Lee-Knight's left arm . That just leaves Troy Trombley as Eric Comrie is still injured. Tri-City can not call up draft pick Evan Sarthou for another week until the tier-one AAA national championships end. Losing Lee-Knight hurts tremendously.

"Yeah it was disappointing," Americans head coach Jim Hiller said after the loss. "He's battling hard like everybody else and got himself back in the series and was playing so well. It's just been that type of a season for us. We're evaluation him now, but he had to come out. He couldn't stay in."
