Auburn Tavern Shooting: Police Still Looking For Suspects

Posted: Updated:

UPDATE:

AUBURN, Wash. (AP) - A 28-year-old man accused of firing a .45-caliber handgun into the crowd outside an Auburn, Wash., sports bar after seeing his friend get shot has been ordered held on $250,000 bail. Police continue to search for those responsible for killing three men and wounding a fourth.

Auburn police Cmdr. Mike Hirman says the man who appeared in court Monday is a felon who is not supposed to have a gun. He was arrested for investigation of reckless endangerment and unlawful possession of a firearm.

The King County medical examiner's office has not officially identified the victims in the shooting early Sunday outside the Sports Page Tavern. Hirman says it began with a dispute between two women on the dance floor.

The Seattle Times reports that police seized several guns and seven vehicles.

Hirman says there were at least two shooters and possibly four or five.

The wounded man was in serious condition at a Seattle hospital.

PREVIOUS COVERAGE:

SEATTLE (AP) - Police say three men were killed and another man was wounded when a brawl led to gunfire outside a tavern in Auburn south of Seattle.

Auburn Police Cmdr. Mike Hirman says dozens of people were filtering out of the Sport Page Tavern at closing time around 2 a.m. Sunday when a fight broke out in the parking lot.

He says several people pulled handguns and fired shots. Three men in their 20s were found dead. A fourth man suffered multiple gunshot wounds and was in critical condition Sunday morning when he was taken to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle.

Hirman says some of the victims and suspects knew each other. Police have not made arrests but have detained a person of interest.
