Author visits Tri-Cities to discuss, "Coming Home: Baseball's America
KENNEWICK, Wash. -- Today a Washington author spoke about his book on baseball. Dr. William Woodward talked about his book, "Coming Home: Baseball's America." He was at the Columbia Center Rotary Club. Then Woodward hosted an in-depth discussion on baseball in America at WSU Tri-Cities. The professor and former broadcaster explains the book's title.
"There's a deliberate pun in that title, because that's what everybody wants to do, get on base, come around and come home. But there's something about baseball in America that seems familiar, that seems like something we always want to return to. At this point of the year, like they say, life begins when the season starts," Dr. Woodward said.
