Spokane Police Arrest Repeat Offender; Search for Another

SPOKANE, Wash- This afternoon Spokane Police Targeted Crime Detectives and members of the Spokane Regional Drug Enforcement Task Force arrested 33 year old career criminal Maxwell D. Jones for his involvement in a recent armed robbery. Detectives are looking to the public to help obtain information on the whereabouts of a Repeat Offender 35 year old Albert D Williamson who is also suspected of assisting Jones in the armed robbery incident. Williamson is also suspected of recently burglarizing an elderly couple.  Williamson is a Repeat Offender with 5 felony convictions ranging from Vehicle Theft and Eluding Officers to Bail Jumping.  Anyone with information on the whereabouts of Williamson is asked to call Crime Check at 456-2233.

Spokane Police Targeted Crimes Detectives believe Williamson burglarized an elderly couple's home on the 800 Block of Lacrosse in northeast Spokane last month.  Detectives gathered information that Williamson had secretly watched one of the victims use a door code and then waited for them to leave.  After the couple left, Williamson along with an unidentified white male entered the home and took personal belongings including heirlooms.   They did this even though the victims had been kind enough to let Williamson use their washer and dryer to do his laundry prior to the burglary.

During follow up interviews on 4-4-13, Targeted Crimes Detectives gathered information that Williamson along with 33 year old Maxwell D. Jones had just committed an armed robbery outside A Taste of India on North Division.  A citizen reported Jones had pointed a gun at him outside the restaurant and demanded his valuables.  When a witness tried to intervene, Williamson stopped him.  Williamson and Jones then fled in a silver Chrysler 300.  Jones pointed the pistol at the victim and witnesses as they sped away.

Detectives determined that Williamson and Jones stopped at 4120 N Cincinnati after the robbery and likely left evidence there.  This is less than a block from the original burglary victim's residence.  A search warrant was executed by the Spokane Police Department SWAT Team.  Neither Jones nor Williamson was inside.  Evidence was recovered including the silver Chrysler 300.

This morning, Detectives gathered credible information that Jones had been threatening potential witnesses and the robbery victim for cooperating with police. This afternoon Targeted Crimes Detectives and members of the Spokane Regional Drug Enforcement Task Force conducted a surveillance operation in northeast Spokane and located Jones.  He was taken into custody without incident and has been booked into the Spokane County Jail for 1st Degree Robbery.

Jones is well known in the law enforcement community as an armed career criminal and gang associate.  He has 6 felony convictions ranging from Robbery and Assault to Property Crimes and Drugs.

Spokane Police ask anyone with information regarding the whereabouts of Williamson (pictured below) to call Crime Check at 456-2233.  He also has an extensive criminal record and is classified as a Repeat Offender.  He has 5 felony convictions ranging from Vehicle Theft and Eluding Officers to Bail Jumping.  Williamson is currently wanted for 1st Degree Armed Robbery with additional charges coming as well.
