OAKLEY, Idaho (AP) - A south-central Idaho man has drowned after strong winds caused his small boat to flip over, throwing him into the icy waters of Oakley Reservoir.
Cassia County Undersheriff George Warrell says rescue personnel were unable to resuscitate 63-year-old Larry Tominaga of Paul after he was removed from the 45-degree water Sunday afternoon.
Coroner Craig Rinehart told The Times-News (http://bit.ly/10LHV8t ) on Monday that Tominaga was wearing a life jacket, but drowned after succumbing to the effects of the cold.
Warrell says witnesses who tried to swim out to Tominaga turned back because the water was too cold.
