WASHOUGAL, Wash. (AP) - The city of Washougal installed an $8,000 acoustic fence but it hasn't dampened noise complaints from neighbors in an industrial park.
The Northwest Underwater Construction Company complains about the barking of dogs next-door at West Columbia Gorge Humane Society.
The company countered last fall with a high-pitched siren designed to quell the barks. The Human Society complained it disturbed the dogs.
The Columbian reports (http://bit.ly/ZillAN ) the disputed has escalated with videotaping.
Company owner Jesse Hutton records the shelter to document the noise. Shelter employees, who are mostly women, say they feel threatened. Now the kennel is recording Hutton when he records them.
The shelter has operated in the industrial area for 18 years. The construction company moved in last year.
