Fever Cut Ties With QB Kasey Peters

Posted: Updated:

KENNEWICK, Wash. - After three straight bad losses, Tri-Cities Fever head coach Adam Shackleford showed quarterback Kasey Peters the door. Monday the Fever cut Peters and named back-up quarterback Dante Warren the starter for this week. Friday the Fever host the Sioux Falls Storm on SWX. Warren replaced Peters in the fourth quarter against Wyoming and nearly led the team to victory. Coach Shackleford says Peters ran out of chances.

"Well it was time, Kasey just wasn't making plays. And there were some things there to be made, again in Wyoming and we had some overthrows and some things that weren't happening, we had to make a change, it was time," said Shackleford.  "The expectation is you're running the offense and we're making plays and when guys are open we've got to hit them. And we need to make sure we're scoring points and when that's not happening, I look at the film and have to decide what direction we need to go."

Peters threw for 690 yards, 12 touchdowns and 8 interceptions in 5 games.
