NEW INFORMATION: Second Arrest Made in Warner Assault

8:15PM PRESS RELEASE FROM THE PULLMAN POLICE DEPT: PULLMAN – Pullman Police Detectives arrested Joshua W. Nantz in connection with the David Warner assault that occurred on March 30, 2013. This arrest follows the arrest of Madeline Fouts earlier in the day.

Nantz came to the Pullman Police Department at approximately 7:30 pm at the request of detectives and was arrested for Assault First Degree, a Class A felony. Nantz is a 23-year-old male Washington State University (WSU) student and Pullman resident, birth date 02/06/90.

An anonymous tip received over this past weekend led to the arrest of Fouts and Nantz. After booking, Nantz will be transported to the Whitman County Jail and will likely appear tomorrow before a judge in Whitman County Superior Court in Colfax.

Madeline Fouts was released from custody at about 6:00 pm today. Fouts had been arrested
for Rendering Criminal Assistance and Providing False Statements to a Public Servant. Fouts
is cooperating with investigators and was not directly involved in the physical assault of Mr.
Warner. She is not considered a danger to the community.

Pullman detectives continue to follow leads on the remaining two male suspects and are
aggressively following those leads at this time. Pullman Police are still asking for any
witnesses to the assault to contact the Pullman Police Department at (509) 334-0802.

PRESS RELEASE FROM THE PULLMAN POLICE DEPT: On Wednesday, April 10, 2013, Pullman Police Detectives arrested the female suspect wanted in connection with the David Warner assault that occurred on March 30, 2013. An anonymous tip received over this past weekend led to the arrest of Madeline A. Fouts.

Fouts was brought to the Pullman Police Department for questioning this morning and was subsequently arrested at 12:30 pm for rendering criminal assistance (felony) and providing false statements to a public servant (misdemeanor). Fouts is a 21-year-old female Washington State University (WSU) student and Pullman resident, birth date 10/27/91.

Pullman detectives have solid leads on the remaining three male suspects and are aggressively following those leads at this time. Pullman Police are still asking for any witnesses to the assault to contact the Pullman Police Department at (509) 334-0802.

Pullman Police will hold a press conference at 4:30 pm today at the Pullman City Council Chambers, 325 SE Paradise St., Pullman.
