Judge To WSU Assault Suspect: 'No Booze, No Bars And No Taverns'!

COLFAX, Wash. - A man accused of beating a WSU professor appeared in court on Thursday. 23-year-old Joshua Nantz appeared before a Whitman County judge Thursday afternoon. Nantz is facing a single count of first degree assault however he has not been formally charged. Nantz turned himself in to Pullman police detectives late Wednesday. Pullman police have not said how they believe Nantz was involved in the assault.

KHQ's Dylan Wohlenhaus spoke to Steve Nantz Josh's father. "My son did not hit David," Steve says. That night was "3 seconds of chaos. My son is a great kid. One of the best."

According to court documents it was 21-year-old Madeline Fouts who identified Nantz and two other suspects in the assault. Fouts was arrested Wednesday and is facing one count of rendering criminal assistance and providing false information to investigators. According to court documents Robert Bean and Matt Soriano are the two other suspects Fouts identified. Pullman police would not confirm or deny Bean and Soriano are the two who are still wanted.

At Nantz's first court appearance Nantz was released without bond. The judge gave certain conditions. "No booze. No bars and no taverns." Judge Frazier also told Nantz he must appear at all future court hearings.

    MEDINA, Ohio (AP) - Police say a 6-month-old girl found unresponsive in a car at a park in Ohio and has died.    Medina police say the baby was found unresponsive shortly after 2 p.m. Saturday in a car at Ray Mellert Park in the city about 30 miles (48 kilometers) south of Cleveland. Medina police said that the girl was transported to a hospital, but efforts to revive her were unsuccessful.
