PULLMAN, Wash. – Tyler Crawford recorded a complete game victory for No. 25 Arizona as the Wildcats defeated host Washington State 7-3 in Pac-12 Conference baseball, Sunday at Bailey-Brayton Field.

Crawford (4-1) scattered nine hits, walked one and struck out three. Washington State (18-15, 5-7 Pac-12) starter Scott Simon (3-1) gave up seven runs in 5 2/3 innings and took the loss.

"We didn't play with a lot of intensity today," Cougar Head Coach Donnie Marbut said. "It didn't seem like the game was important enough to us."

The Wildcats (23-12, 8-7 Pac-12) parlayed two walks and two hits into three runs in the top of the first for an early lead. The Cougars responded with three runs in the bottom of the second to tie the game 3-3.

Brett Jacobs and Patrick McGrath opened the inning with back-to-back singles and were sacrificed to second and third, respectively, by Matt Mendenhall. After Trace Tam Sing walked to load the bases, Trek Stemp plated two runs with a single. Two batters later, P.J. Jones delivered one of his three hits in the game to drive in Tam Sing with the tying run.

The Wildcats chased Simon in the sixth with four runs on four hits, a successful squeeze bunt and a sacrifice fly to take a 7-3 lead.

Washington State plays its next-four games on the road, beginning with a nonconference game at Gonzaga, Tuesday. Game time is scheduled for 6 p.m.
