Police say a semi-truck was trying to back up on Monroe street in downtown Spokane when it crashed into a tree and street light, knocking over both.
The driver was traveling southbound down Monroe late Saturday morning when they realized the truck was too tall to pass under the railroad crossing bridge. While trying to back up, the truck swerved to miss a car, hitting both the tree and the street light.
Southbound Monroe street was temporarily restricted to one lane but is back open. No injuries were reported. The driver was cited for driving the wrong way down a one way street.
