Teen Hurt in Rural Yakima County Crash
NBCRightNow.com - A teenaged Mattawa girl was hurt in a rural Yakima County car accident early Saturday morning.
The Washington State Patrol said the 28-year-old driver of a Honda Accord, Patricia Mendoza, also of Mattawa, swerved to avoid a coyote. The car rolled, injuring 15-year-old Karen Tamayo who wasn't wearing a seatbelt. It happened along State Route 24 near Hanford Road just before 1:00 a.m.
Mendoza, who was wearing a seatbelt, wasn't hurt. WSP will not be filing charges.
