CHICAGO – Spokane Shock DB Paul Stephens has been named the Week 5 AFL MVP, as voted on by Arena Football League fans.

Stephens (5-9, 175, Central Missouri) set a new AFL single-game record with five interceptions in Spokane's 69-47 victory over the San Jose Sabercats in Week 5. Stephens came into the game without a single pick on the year. He now leads the League with five through five weeks.

Fans had 24 hours to vote for the award on ArenaFootball.com. Other candidates included Arizona Rattlers WR Rod Windsor and Cleveland Gladiators QB Brian Zbydniewski.

Stephens will be back in action in front of a national audience on Saturday night, as the undefeated Spokane Shock (5-0) host the Tampa Bay Storm (3-2) in "NET10 Wireless Arena Football Saturday" on CBS Sports Network. Kickoff is set for 10:00 p.m. ET.
