Patient Flemming puts rushing load on shoulders for Fever

Posted: Updated:

KENNEWICK, Wash. -- The Tri-Cities Fever rushing attack may sit on Keithon Flemming again. Friday night the Fever host the Wyoming Cavalry, and Keola Antolin is still injured. He is a game-time decision. Two weeks ago Antolin injured his leg. Last week Flemming filled in with two rushing touchdowns. It is crazy to think Flemming almost did not stick around after being the back-up.

"When I talked to (Head Coach Adam) Shackleford, when we met, he decided to go with Keola. He told me he thought I was still a great football player. Just he wanted to help me get somewhere else. I told him this is where I wanted to be. So I ended up sticking around the weekend they went to Colorado to see how the game would go. It's really unfortunate for Keola because you don't wish injury on someone, but at the end of the day it opened up the door for me to come back here and play. This is where I wanted to be," Flemming said.
