Members Of Burned Idaho Churches Hold Services

EMMETT, Idaho (AP) - The congregations of two Emmett churches held Sunday services despite their buildings being damaged the day before in early morning fires.

First Baptist Church Pastor Lance Zagaris kept things in perspective Sunday after holding services in a funeral home chapel. He told the Idaho Statesman Sunday (http://bit.ly/Y7K0vW ) the building isn't the church.

Community Bible Church members gathered at Emmett Middle School. Pastor Jonathan Phillips arrived with a charred King James Bible.

Phillips says the bible survived the fire but the church's records in the basement were destroyed.

Investigators from the FBI and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives are helping local investigators try to determine who set the fires early Saturday and why.

First Baptist's 100-year-old church is on the national Registry of Historic Places.
